Airis Holdings LLC v. City and County of San Francisco, et al.

Airis Holdings LLC is a world-renowned architecture and design firm specializing in building customized air cargo facilities at major metropolitan airports. In 2002, the City of San Francisco and the San Francisco International Airport entered into an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with Airis Holdings to design and build a customized air cargo solution. Midway through the ENA, after Airis had invested millions in developing the project, the City and the Airport violated the terms of the contract and began pursuing alternative plans to develop the cargo facility.

The Focal Point’s Role

Over the course of two Mental Mining® sessions, the Duane Morris team and The Focal Point worked together to create an effective graphic story. By clarifying case themes and timelines, The Focal Point was able to produce trial graphics that focused the jury on critical events and key players in the dispute. As the team moved forward throughout the case, they were able to bring the jury back to the key points using these critical graphics.

The jury found that the San Francisco International Airport and the City of San Francisco violated the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing during the Exclusive Negotiation Agreement and delivered a unanimous verdict of $1 million, plus the right to substantial attorneys’ fees for our client.
