Bell v. Farmers
Overview
A class action case was brought by several thousand insurance adjusters against Farmers Insurance Exchange. The class proved that from 1993 through June 2001 Farmers misclassified claims adjusters as non-exempt employees and improperly failed to pay for overtime work.

IMS | The Focal Point worked with Plaintiffs’ counsel and experts to find ways to understand complex economic and statistical information. The Focal Point also developed strategies and graphics to discredit the Defendant’s experts, who attempted to minimize damages by adopting inappropriate statistical modeling.
Result
A California jury and judge collectively awarded a $210 million judgment against Farmers Insurance Exchange.
