Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics Makes ABA’s Top Ten Bestsellers List for Three Consecutive Months

Oakland, Calif. (April 14, 2005)—Since its release, Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics has consistently topped the American Bar Association’s list of bestsellers, quickly winning the praise of highly regarded trial lawyers and establishing itself as the definitive guide in its field. Indeed, Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics, published by the American Bar Association, is filling a previous void in trial lawyers’ training and providing key insight on trial lawyers’ stock in trade–persuasion.

Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics was written by G. Christopher Ritter of The Focal Point, the nation’s leading trial strategy and graphics firm. The book offers straightforward advice on how to use graphics to strengthen cases and win trials. With Creating Winning Trial Strategies and Graphics, trial lawyers are refining their persuasion and presentation tactics in a way previously only available through private consultation with litigation strategists.

"Every trial lawyer, indeed every litigator, should read this book."
–John Keker, Esq. of Keker & Van Nest LLP

"This is the first and only book that tells us exactly what we need to know. Today it is beyond dispute that it is malpractice for any trial lawyer to fail to incorporate graphics into a presentation to a jury. Yet trial lawyers naturally do not know, and are not trained to know, how to reach this audience using these tools. Whether you have fancy electronics or just a magic marker and a white board, you need this book."
–Cristina Arguedas, Esq. of Arguedas, Cassman & Headley LLP

"For more than a decade, The Focal Point has been the secret weapon that trial lawyers on all sides of civil and criminal cases have used to obtain tremendous verdicts. Incredibly, in this book Chris Ritter and his colleagues disclose some of their most important secrets."
–Brett C. Govett, Esq., Fulbright & Jaworski LLP

This easy-to-read book is filled with trial graphics; this is the first four-color book published by the ABA. An entire chapter is devoted to hypothetical cases and corresponding graphics in order to give lawyers inspiration for producing effective graphics for their own cases. A CD-ROM with various graphics found in the book is also included; many of the graphics are buildable so readers may see how a lawyer might use the graphics during trial.

The Focal Point is based in Oakland, California, with an office in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Founded over 15 years ago, the company has worked with some of the nation’s most prestigious law firms, and it has contributed to numerous high-profile trials, including: working with the defense team in Colorado v. Kobe Bryant, working with the prosecution team in California v. Scott Peterson, contributing to the conviction in the 2001 fatal dog mauling case in San Francisco, working to secure a $440 million settlement payment by Microsoft following a Markman hearing, and several of the country’s largest verdicts in complex civil rights cases.
