Senior Graphic Designer/
Carolyn joined The Focal Point in the summer of 2007, having moved to the Bay Area from the midwest in search of cooler summers and warmer winters. Originally from Cleveland, Carolyn attended Ohio University where she graduated with honors in Visual Communications with a focus on informational graphics. She has been the lead designer on a number of high-profile cases including US v. Kent Roberts, which had a landmark acquittal of a CEO charged with backdating. As the resident Flash guru, Carolyn took on the design and programming of multiple highly-customized interactive presentations for Andersen v. St Jude Medical Canada, blazing the trail for use of graphics in the Canadian courtroom. When she isn’t drawing or coding, she can be found touring the Bay Area on her motorcycle, banging out beats on her drums, or looking for her next adrenaline rush.
“I love how graphics connect people with a story and give the viewer a new way to experience a world of information. Complex ideas can be presented in a clear, concise, and aesthetically pleasing way—it’s like visual shorthand.”
